Meet Larry Mulvaney, DDS
Larry Mulvaney, DDS, brings more than 30 years of experience in general, cosmetic, and implant dentistry to Northwestern Dental Group, with locations in Niles, Vernon Hills, Skokie, Gurnee, Arlington Heights, Deerfield, and Hawthorne Commons, Illinois.
At the University of Illinois Dental School in Chicago, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery, Dr. Mulvaney started his career. After graduating, Dr. Mulvaney worked as a periodontist extern at Northwestern Dental School in Chicago. He then went on to Keller Graduate School in Bellevue, Washington, where he received his Master of Business Administration.
Dr. Mulvaney also earned degrees from the MISCH International Implant Prosthetic Program and the implant and prosthetic program at New York University prior to starting his own practice. A year-long advanced implant surgery and anesthesia program was also completed by him at the University of Puerto Rico in San Juan.
Due to his vast expertise, Dr. Mulvaney can do several procedures under IV or conscious sedation in a single visit. Dr. Mulvaney is a fully licensed IV sedation specialist who can make patients more comfortable during lengthy, difficult oral operations.
Dr. Mulvaney is an expert in bone grafts and sinus lifts in addition to being a dental implant specialist. He frequently works with both men and women to make sure their dental implants are successful.
Dr. Mulvaney broadens his professional knowledge when he isn’t interacting with patients or creating treatment plans. He routinely talks at industry meetings on implant dentistry and related operations. He actively participates in ongoing training and education to guarantee that his patients have access to the most recent technologies and surgical procedures.
Dr. Mulvaney holds membership in the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Chicago Dental Association, the Illinois Dental Association and is a general member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He is also a fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and a member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiologists.

Meet Dr. Esther Lim
Dr. Esther Lim graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry; she earned Dean’s List and Chancellor’s List Honors.
She then graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2009. She was awarded 1st place for University of Michigan Research Day and ADA/Dentsply Student Research Award.
Dr. Lim strongly believes that a good clinician must keep up with the latest dental knowledge, as well as advancements in technology. That is why she has pursued extensive continuing education in Implant dentistry, Endodontics, Oral surgery, and Botox procedures. “I think of my patients as my family.” She loves being connected to her patients, and improving their lives brings her great satisfaction. Furthermore, she has devoted time to helping others with dental mission trips to Guyana, India and Laos.
A little daughter is shared by Dr. Lim and her husband, another dentist. They like spending time together cooking, traveling, and doing church volunteer work.
